• Director's Biography

Andre Gaumond was born in Montreal, Canada. He studied at the Concordia University in film productions. He started to work in cinema in 1983. He has worked on many features film as a first assistant director or as a script supervisor with great director like: Tony Scott (USA), Werner Herzog (Germany), Marc Simenon and Jacques Renard (France), Laurence Gorden Clark (England), Jean-Claude Lauzon, Allan Goldstein, Robert Ménard and many more in Canada.

He started his production company in 1998, in the goal to achieve his own films.

In 2011 he has produced, directed and writed a short fiction drama call: UN FILS. He has won the GRAND JURY AWARD at the Awareness Film Festival, the AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD at The Mix International Short Film Festival and the BEST SHORT at the COMMFFEST.

He has produced and directed 2 feature documentaries:

VIETNAM, THE COUNTRY OF DREAMS, in 2007, that was presented at the Swansea Bay Film Festival and the Everglades International Film Festival. And now release with Les Aventuriers Voyageurs conference tour.

I CAN'T, I LIVE IN CUBA!, in 2004, who was well received at the New-York International Independent Film & Video Festival, The Tiburon International Film Festival 2005 and the Calgary International Film Festival in 2005.

He also made more than 20 shorts documentaries for Happiness-seekers.info and much more.

He wrote CUBA LA DIVA that had won an HONORABLE MENTION at the Orlando Hispanic Film Festival 2008. And ZAKIS his recent screenplay just won the first price BEST FEATURE SCREENPLAY at the Angle Film Award, Monaco International film festival 2008.
